Cant argue with Al Roebuck. Lance Abernathy would be good for the wrestling, dont know about his football knowlege. And Frank Brown.........well.

Roebuck didn't light the world on fire as head coach @ Woodruff.

I am still amazed they didn't invite the alumni Div 1 coach for an interview to see what he may bring to the table for athletics as a whole in their school. I know I would have at least given the interview team a chance to visit with him. Wish them well as they do the interviews. Good Luck. Hope you find a match that isnt using this as a stepping stone.

The Iowa guy may have withdrawn his name, had specific salary demands, etc. never know. stepping stone is also a problem, but i dont think Roebuck is looking for that at 51. Neal probably wouldnt have as well, being local with family near. also Craig as a local would be home

I sure hope you are correct about him withdrawing his application or a salary issue. It would be a shame if they just didn't consider him. It appears the index comments are about to take off about this. We have had enough bad pub don't need this to turn out that way to. And whats up with the AD not being considered? I guess AD of the year wasn't good enough.

Im kinda new to Ware Shoals football but I looked at the candidates and I cant understand why the guyffrom Iowa didnt get an interview. He played D1 football which I bet 90% of high school coaches dont. This guy is around sports 24/7and I garauntee he knows more about football than most class 1A coaches do. He is a former player at the school so it only makes sense to at least give him an interview unless he did withdraw his name.

Goes to show us we have no clue about the inner workings here. The index comments are exploding. WOW! Sounds and looks like a good ole' boy hire is in the works. It makes me wonder? When they don't even interview a Division 1 coach that is an Alum. Seriously, it is not rocket science. You have a ware Shoals native that wants to come home, has Div 1 qualifications in all sports and you don't even let the interview team talk to him. I am not saying he is the right fit ( I don't know). But, all indications thus far from what i am reading is this has been a set up from the beginning. Short sighted process and short sighted thinking. Man up ware shoals and do a redo here this is crazy.

Iowa guy doesn't have tons of experience coaching all sports "skills". he has experience conditioning and strengthening. Got to know the skills of the game. He may know football from playing it however. Anyway...good luck.

Oh by the way, the 2009-10 AD of the Year gets his job taken away just to combine the position with football? WOW.
