Something went on. Doesn't make much sense to invest all of the effort over the last month, or so, to go after not only this job but the Woodruff job. Who knows? Maybe Herron knows he won't be there much longer and he has been promised HC spot when that happens.

region2,

stop looking for conspiracy theories. stuff like this isnt unprecedented. in the last 10 years or so Winthrop basketball has had a coach leave twice to only come right back after accepting another job(gregg marshall with c of c and pat kelsey with UMASS).

its one thing to think in the abstract about leaving and having your own program. but when it is real and you have to start moving your family, selling the house, etc.

give him and UC the benefit of the doubt. easiest explanation is usually the most likely.

Not looking for a conspiracy theory at all. And the way things turned out, Union got a great coach, and a great person to lead their program. Pulling hard for Brian Thompson as I am sure he will do well.

But to your notes. Big difference is that the coaches you listed, and we can throw Bobby Cremins into that mix, is that they we're already head coaches. Not looking to improve their title. Huge difference.

And you are trying to tell me that after spending two months going after the Woodruff and Union jobs that he didn't have the he awareness to figure the personal ramifications of such a change and that just dawned on him Monday after he was offered the job? I don't know McManus at all but give him credit that he was well aware of the changes on both a personal, and professional level, we're he to become a head coach.

Not trying to find a conspiracy at all. In fact, very pleased it worked out the way it did,.
