Dillon is great in 3A but they don't want to get into, or have any business getting into, a sand box with Dutch Fork and Tom Knotts.

I feel my Indians can challenge them if we can get there we have 9 starters back on defense from a team that was a drop pass away from getting there last year. But you got to admire what the Dutch Forks, Dillions, South pointe, and Abbevilles are doing they have great coaches that knows how to build programs from top to bottom along with having the talent in those areas. The biggest problem that we have had at Gaffney is we are still relying on our past tradition to win football games by that I mean our school board, our community, and our coaches feel that because we got Gaffney on our Jerseys and we have this rich tradition that this is going to win games for us. Biggest Problem is most of our coaches are good ole Gaffney boys so we havent elevated our program on the coaching front at all and our school board would rather keep it that was so that they would not have to invest in any big time coach outside of Cherokee county and even though we have nice stadium our weigh room is probably the size of most 1 or 2a schools. We have the talent year in and year out as some of these other programs thats at the top but everybody in Cherokee county is still living in the past instead of noticing was going on now.

We are waiting on Gaffney to get revenge after you all beat us back in 2012 in our first appearance. We love the challenge of beating one of the “Great Region 3” team that plays in the toughest region of the state. So far you all are 0-2, think Gaffney will like to make it 0-3?

True. The Indians could, and should, challenge Dutch Fork. But saying one could and doing it are two totally different things. Gaffney has just as much talent, but currently, don't have the program to challenge Dutch Fork.

I agree that we have the talent year in year out to play with anybody but we dont have the program because the school board, coaching, and alot people in the community are still stuck on living off our tradition. Because of our tradition expectations are going to be high every year in Gaffney and our current coaches are not building a program. Programs have to be built and maintained to be a state title contender every year tradition doesnt get you anywhere today. It takes great coaches like Knotts, Strait from South Pointe, what Byrnes had with Bently, Northwestern with Richardson to have elite teams and programs and we dont have that in Gaffney that would be the only thing that should be a concern for all Gaffney fans for getting to the state to meet a Dutch Fork.
