Word of Wisdom About the SEC

Postby G-WOOD-2012 » Thu Jan 09, 2014 8:00 pm

Being a South Carolina fan of course i love the SEC and pull for any team in our conference when bowl season comes around. With that being said i'm fed up with all the crap continuously being said about the SEC. We are the most dominating conference in the nation hands down. We can say that we have won the last 7 of 8 national title games, but of course people say "There's only 2 or 3 teams in the SEC worth anything"....well here's a little history lesson on the sec the past few years:

-With a conference of 14 teams 10 of those went to bowl games this year, only to come out 7-3, Some of the "better" conferences as they say, Pac-12(6-3), Acc(5-6),
Big 12(3-3), Big 10(2-5).
-We have 10 teams in a 50 team list called " the most valuable football list"

To point out on a more obvious note: The past 5 years south carolina has beat clemson, 1 of those years clemson was ACC champions, and this past year the only acc lost they had was to FSU.
The same thing happens year after year with Georgia Tech vs Georgia, and Florida vs FSU.

From 1998-2012 the sec has a record in bowl games of 73-50(59.%)
All the other conferences are at least 10% behind our win percentage.

And finally, when it comes to "only 2 or 3 teams being good"
Its like that in every conference! No new teams step up every year and compete for a conference championship. How boring would it be to sit around and watch football knowing who is gonna win the conference every year? Look at what happened in the SEC east this past year with mizzou, south carolina and georgia. And 2 years ago with alabama and lsu. Lsu knocking off Bama in the regular season, then meeting back up in the title game and bama win it. The SEC is a twister of a conference and you never know who may knock off who, and that's how it should be. There's no easy win besides maybe Kentucky, i mean hell look how far Vandy has come from being pretty much a bye week to a pretty decent team. Anybody can beat anybody here and it just so happesns that LSU, Auburn, Bama, and Florida have been able to survive it the past 7 years.

I have been an ALABAMA fan since 1963.i also pull
for all the SEC teams when they play outside the
SEC.i don't hate any team.i pull for the TIGERS and
GAMECOCKS.i lean more toward the TIGERS because
they have had several former ALABAMA players as coaches.
CHARLIE PELL ,DANNY FORD and now DABO.
congrats to both the TIGERS and GAMECOCKS on their
bowl victories.i was disappointed in my TIDE in the
SUGAR BOWL,but they will be in the hunt next season
for the title.should be interesting with the playoff system.
