Re: Charleston area teams results, I am mildly surprised that Faith/Ridge combo team beat Calhoun. Northwood appears to be down a little this year based on their score and their result in the Sertoma Classic last week. Porter Gaud trouncing SCHSL A Charleston Math and Science seems about right. Not at all surprised that First Baptist beat SCHSL AAA Bishop England, although I thought the game would be a little closer. Johnny's team is loaded this year, and Michael Dukes is the real deal.

Is FaithRidge that good? Or is Calhoun lacking? Or was it a scoring frenzy and time ran out with FaithRidge holding the ball?

Jeff Davis and Hilton Head Prep won by a good margin. I saw HHP play last year and they were not good. Good to see them playing better.

Coach Greene has done an outstanding job with the Faith-Ridge boys. They continued to grow together and continued to fight when Calhoun made a run. Looking forward to a great season. Don't understand the playoff thing but no need worrying about what you can't control. On to the next one.

I think it's because they dont want to have to worry about a school splitting a state title with another one. Preventing them from playing is the easiest way.

My understanding is that Branchville was up early (not sure the score) but storms rolled through and it was agreed to simply cancel the game.
