... and your point is? Surely not that "civil rights" for blacks is the same as today's push for gay rights.

A lot of the arguments against gay rights are very similar to the arguments against civil rights.

When I was in college, I once heard a professor say, "I don't have any gay friends...I need to go out and meet some."
He said it with the same tone that he would have said, "I need to go to the store and buy eggs."

Absolutely NO comparison at all. Zero. And I wish more and more blacks would condemn that entire idea. Try this on: "I have a dream of a day when all Americans will be judged on the content of their niceness and not the depth of their depraved perversions." Uh uh.

I disagree, homophobes operate under the same fear as opponents of the civil rights movement in the 50's and 60's.
How does allowing gay marriage hurt anyone? And before you say it is against God, then who are you to judge? I believe God is very capable of judging everyone. Doesn't need help from us.
I see a lot of similarities in the 2.

Oh and Beau I am not gay, but like most of your posts your just a smartass hiding behind a computer screen that contributes very little to this forum other than to put others down.
But you have the freedom to do that so keep on... way to go.

First, I've never understood the word "homophobe." I'm not afraid of ACTUAL men, soo ... Secondly, I haven't judged anybody. Some of you folks immediately default to the words "judgment" and "hypocrite" every time somebody expresses biblical truth. Thirdly, since when does "It doesn't hurt anybody" serve as THE only barometer for morality? Blacks should absolutely verbally blast anyone who tries to to equate bigotry based on skin color with moral discernment aimed at perversion.

Just because my opinion differs from yours does not make me a dumbass. You don't know me sir. However, you sure are quick to judge others which sort of makes my point.
And Woodruffstar, I said God can judge, not us. I have made too many mistakes to judge anyone else.

And how do you think God will judge a country that decides that gay marriage is socially acceptable???

Not so sure God will judge entire countries. But if you think so then that is your belief.
Just know that I try to live my life in the service of Him and I do not judge others, lest I will be.
