I will have to say these T land fans do stand behind their program just as us Cheraw fans do. I know we all have been trash talking for some weeks now and since the game is this Friday that smack has really elevated. That is what makes it fun. So I hate it that one of our teams has to lose this Friday cause it has been a pleasure trading blows on here with you T Land fans. Everyone have a safe trip to the game Friday and GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!

Would like to invite all Palmetto football talk bloggers to tailgate with us. I am going to bbq some riblets, will have some tater salad, bring something if you like or just yourself. I will be there around five and should have some food ready by six. That gives us an hour to get hyped. Boskeet and braves1989, make sure you leave your weapons in your car OK? Look forward to meeting you guys and if you need my cell PM me, that way when (if?) you get lost in the Francis Marion National Forest you can call me to lead you to the stadium

tailgating for a T-land game...wow things certainly have changed since I graduated...but then again Morgan was there when I started at T-land and then my last couple of years Coach Craig was just starting to fix the program.

the million dollar question...is WHERE are the fans.... The crowd at the game last week IMO was pathetic....... here it is a 2nd round playoff game and the stadium was not even close to being halfway full. If this was the best that Timberland Nation can do, I think their show needs to go on the road. Last I check there is not very much going on in the area why that stadium could not be packed to the gills..... For those fans who made it out there and are FAITHFULLY there, I am sure the team thanks you. But if it is in the stars... and T-Land wins state... every wagon rider will be there claiming and most case lying about their affiliations. For those wagon riding fans.... go into other small town SC tradition rich towns, and see how it is done.... I am talking the dillons, marlboro county, cheraw, Lamar, Lake View... or most of the schools upstate... You would be surprised at the electric atmosphere that comes with the crowds. IF you claim to be a T-Land fan, GET YOUR BUTTS TO THE GAMES.... I am sure that Cheraw is going to bring quite a few.

"Undertaker"...that's a good question. I won't make excuses for those who could attend but decided not to, but one thing that has "lightened" our attendance is the fact that one of our local industries...(biggest employer in our immediate area), a few years back, started 12 hour rotating shifts and on any given Friday nite, depending on how the rotation falls, a good many die-hard Wolf fans are at work. Now...just last nite, my brother and I were discussing the very same fact that we will start seeing "fans"...(used lightly)...at the games that we haven't seen since this time last year. Yes, many will have on their "Wolf attire" and will take their place in the stands with the rest of us....but where have they been the other 12 weekends??? Some, of course, will be "Wolves" in "Sheeps clothing"...coming only to "gloat" in hopes the Wolves lose. I know that that sounds harsh....but it kinda rubs a "die hard" like myself and many others that attend every single game...rain, sleet or snow the wrong way. I know they pay their six dollars like everyone else and we're glad for the extra revenue....but i would just as soon see the "Johnny come latelys" stay at home (esp. those coming for the wrong reason)....right where they were the other 12 weeks the games were being played. The "die-hards" will be there, cheering our team on and will appreciate the play of our Wolves...win or lose.......Go Wolves!!!!!!!......

There is still split feelings, 12 years later, among a lot of people around here about Timberland. Two old schools, with great tradition, Macedonia and St Stephen, very bitter rivals, were combined by the powers that be to form Timberland. When the contractor laid the foundation for the building he built it backwards, facing the woods instead of the highway. The school board allowed it to continue being built that way. The school is in the middle of the woods in between both communities. So to start with things started out bad. Art Craig and his staff have done more in the past 6 or so years to erase all the negativity than anyone has ever done. Nothing like a good football team to bring it all together. There is a strong core of devoted fans. A lot of people prefer to stand on the sidelines and watch, if you put those people in the stands we would be very close to capacity. I'm sure at any school you will have your fairweather fans. I feel like the Wolves fans travel better than any team that we play. The stadium will be packed this Friday, I am sure Cheraw will fill their side up. In fairness, last Fridays forecast called for rain. A lot of people stayed home and tuned in 106.1 and listened. We have come a long way but still have a long way to go. But Timberland fans are as loyal as any in the state. GO WOLVES !!

WTUA before I forget I want to say thanks to you and all of the radio staff for the good job that is done every week, I agree with what you said a good football team brings the community together, and I for one love a road game, eating out, long rides, talking football, Timberland does have some faithful fans who follow their WOLVES

thanks for that. we enjoy doing it. I think the fact that we are just a bunch of dopes from the stands who have headsets on (except for Wayne, who is the true professional)we don't do so bad. I enjoy the road games as well, I do wish we could travel to places like Cheraw, Dillon, Strom, Byrnes (just kidding) etc. in the regular season, would be a lot of fun.

I agree with "wolfie08" on the job well done by you "Playbyplay" and the rest of the crew at WTUA 106.1 (on your FM dial)...a big thanks to you guys. "Playbyplay"...You know I sit in the stands with my headphones on during the game...people have asked "what game you listening to"??? My reply...."well, this one of course"...they seem to be amazed but it actually adds a "3rd dimension" to the game, so to speak. Anyway...it works for me.

I may have been a little tough on my "fan" statement posted earlier....but hey, I've never been one for being subtle when it comes to some things...working on it though Roll Eyes

Didn't y'all also get the northern fringe of Cainhoy kids too? I know our Cainhoy kids used to get up for the Timberland game.

Also, Berkeley county is still represented well with Timberland, Berkeley and Goose Creek still playing.
