Well... just got off the phone with a buddy from Central. Here's his assesment of the Eagles.
1. They pass to a spot... pray for the jump ball. Now, Southside did it too... look how they turned out. 2. They seem to have trouble stopping the pass. They gave up 300 yards passing to Gilbert. 3. They make their money in the red zone. When an opponent gets there, their defense steps up and gets the stop. However... we have a triple threat between our pass, Gilliam running, and Jake Lambert running. 4. Central is now without their star back and defensive back due to a torn ACL. I hate the kid got hurt, but it's a plus for us! 5. They have 2 awesome defensive ends... one of which is a D-1 recruit. They will put pressure on Jake all night. We have to stop them. Woodruff is coming together at the right time and is clicking on all cylinders. Brian Lane should be the head coach of the year to walk in the door and take a team to the upperstate championship game. He has put together a great coaching staff who KNOWS how to get it done. They have brought out the best of our boys talent. Woodruff Football.... Life in the fast LANE!!! |

Well, I think we all know Central will be ready to play, especially when they see Woodruff. For some reason, we seem to bring out the best in many teams. Woodruff is playing well and Jake has been lights out on the long throws, so the red zone might not be that big of deal. I hate to hear a player for either team is hurt, but that is a part of the game too. If our defense can get a few stops, we will be okay I believe.

Ok Ok you got me not paying attention to what i was doing, so you win a spelling contest, congrats. Also congrats on your win over Abbeville, BUT, you will put up a good effort but you will come up a little bit, or a lot of bit short. You have a good team but Central will dominate this one.

I say central will win this one by no more the 7 points. Their 2 DEs, 21 and 19, will probably be down Jake Lamberts throat all night. Not tryin to be cocky but i didn't give up a sack when we played them and i don't think Woodruff's OTs have the quickness to keep them off the corner.

Our offensive line in general is pretty darn good. Abbeville brings a lot of pressure, and they didn't allow a run for a loss all night. We have a couple of hawgs that can get it done in the trenches. I forsee this to be another outstanding game, and either team has a great shot. However, I am going to enjoy this one first before I even begin to make a prediction on NEXT WEEK'S game. Broken bones will heal, losing to the Wolverines lasts a lifetime |

Dang beau, I believe you've been wrong since the third game of the season, but I guess we both have our opinions, which is what they are at this point.
Looks like Woodruff will have to win tough games over three undefeated teams in a row, but they have the talent to do it. Don't let those two early season loses to very good teams fool you. |
