We have the potential to meet Timberland in the lower state. The brackets could not be set up any better for us this year for us to go far. Dillon or Manning is not an automatic win for us in round 3 but they are teams we can compete with and beat. Timberland has too much for us but I have wanted to play them since week 5 or so. We would have a better chance going to Clemson against Cheraw if they can trip up Timberland. A possible rematch with Strom Thurmond would be amazing in the state championship. The scenarios in AA are endless; so many great teams this year. We are 14 points away from being undefeated. Losses to AAAA aiken 14-7 and strom thurmond 7-0.

ya'll could be looking at a Manning team that lost by 4 to Crestwood and 14 to us. Throw the Kingstree game out the window, Manning had a lot of starters out of that game. The lower state has a lot of very good teams, as does the upper state. Things should start getting very interesting around round 3

If cheraw and Timberland do play the only way I see Silver Bluff beating either of them is if either team had key players get hurt. Silver Bluff is a big time team to contend with but I think Lower state will be represented by Cheraw or Timberland. Rnd 3 will tell the tale. All of us got to get that far first.

Braveguy, I agree. I don't think we can win lower state but hope to make it there.

I think you may be referring to Lake City playbyplay. We had about seven starters out and Lake City had just returned all of their players from suspension following the brawl with Wilson. We ran into a buzzsaw that night, plus Lake City has a pretty damn good football team. They would have made some noise in the AAA playoffs. Crestwood is the favorite to get to Death Valley fron the lower state in AAA in my opinion. They have the type of team that will give Myrtle Beach fits. They can control the clock and keep MB's offense off the field. BW

playbyplay said it best: we say we ain't looking ahead, but we cannot help but talk about it! Big Grin

i agree.....so this is my point....if, i mean "if" round3 sets up like we are thinking/wishing/praying/etc....that will, by far, be on of the best weeks of high school football this year! 4 games of teams so closely matched, leaving nothing on the field!!

we ought to petition, to have the games at different times, so we can all attend each one! Big Grin

I would love to meet ST in the 3rd Round in Upperstate because of how good they are sounding. Central has not faced much competition since the Chesterfield and Cheraw games and I hope we still have big hearts for a State title. Things may happen before then but i hope to see Central vs. ST in the 3rd Round!
