I took every team that is left and got there combined opp records up to date and also found out out of all those teams who is still playing in playoffs. The more teams you still have playing in the playoffs would equal the tougher schedule you have played

Central combined opp record is 77W and 56L. Of all the teams centrals has played teams still alive are Anson county (NC) 3RD RND Forest Hills (nc) 3rd rnd Cheraw 3rd rnd and Chesterfield playing for upper state 1a div 1. Total of 4 teams still alive.

Timberland combined opp record is 67W and 69L Teams still alive that timberland has played in manning 3rd rnd of playoffs in 2a and Scotts branch playing for lower state 1a div 2. Total of 2 teams still alive

S-T combined opp record is 68W and 65L. No team that S-T has played is still alive in the playoffs. None

Looks like abbeville played the tougher schedule. Cheraw has more teams that they have played still alive than anyone else. And we still have S-T, Central, Abbeville, and Timberland all with perfect seasons.

Just looking at the four Lower State teams left:
Using the 135 day figures off of schsl.org that were used for the last alignment; Timberland, Dillon, Manning and Cheraw are #2,3,4 & 6 in size in lower state. They show Ashley Ridge (with just 9th and 10th grade) as #1 and Edisto as #5.

I also think all four of these teams are recent additions to AA from AAA. I know Timberland and Manning are within the last few years, not sure how long Dillon and Cheraw have been in AA.

I'm not saying it means anything, but it is interesting.

In Upper State Strom Thurmond, another recent addition from AAA, is the largest school still alive. Woodruff is just above average size at #18. The curve busters are Central and Abbeville. Of the 48 AA schools they are #45 and #47 in size.

Once again, I find out that STHS has played a weak schedule. This is a joke to me. What ever makes you guys happy is fine with us.

That's right WDOTOTF, let them think that. Strom Thurmond has no chance, they are weak, they are lucky, the teams on their schedule are weak............... Wink We will see what everybody thinks about STHS and region 3 after this Friday. Just use all of the posts on this board as locker room material or toilet paper. That is about all they are good for.

IMO, it says a lot for Central and Abbeville, the fact they are right there with all these recent AAA teams, when we are borderline A status teams, as far as enrollment. I'm talking about teams that were very good at the AAA level, not just run of the mill teams. Imagine what Central and Abbeville might be with 300 more students in the schools. Makes you think, I'll say that.

Just another stat that means nothing....There are a few 1A schools that will run circles around a lot of 2A and 3A schools. All that means is, you have to play with what you have and win. The comp is so much stronger in 2A than 3A this year. Look at how many 2A teams defeated 3A and 4A playoff teams. I feel our top 10 teams can hold their own in any classification.

After all, look at what Chesterfield did to our last season 2A state champs Cheraw this year. I'm sure they would run through the rest of 2A with ease, except for Central, because Central beat both teams.

WDOTOTF. Where in my post did I say anything about S-T playing a weak schedule? Your assuming thats what I meant and its not what I meant. If your are mad cause I said no teams that S-T had on there schedule are still alive in the playoffs then im sorry but I put everyone stats. Stats dont mean anything like I have said over and over come friday night. I just put them on here for everyone to see. Calm down man. This is all in good fun. Central knows they got a hard game coming. Sit back and take a deep Breath................................ Feel better Big Grin

My Jr. year we played Daniel in the state champ game and both schools were among the smallest 3A schools at the time. The Eagles have tradition, they've been competing with the big boys for along time, ask MCHS they've never beat them!!
should be a great game ST-CP

braveguy..Could you add the enrollment numbers to this post. I do think Abbeville does a tremendous job with basically a A enrollment. I would dare say that the teams from the lower state have 400 more students than Abbeville does. Got to figure you find several more kids to help you with those larger numbers
