i'd like to put in Dr. Bob Sulek for girls...he's been on the cover of the new york times for coaching the #1 guys team in his younger years...he has yet to lose a region game while at prep...voted coach of the year numerous times..i believe either 5 or 6 total championships...4 in a row..quite an impressive resume if you ask me..any other thoughts though?

Dr. Bob has never lost a region game at HHP? Are you sure of that?

Before this turns into a heated discussion of right and wrong, let me make a couple of corrections.

The Hilton Head Prep girls never lost a region game in the last realignment. You have to go back to Ashley Scott's junior year at Northwood in the spring of 2004 to the last time HHP lost any SCISA game period.

I don't know the exact numbers but HHP has something like a 65 game SCISA winning streak.

If you are convinced that your man is the all being, creator of the game, paterfamilia of women's b-ball, what was the need of starting the thread? You HHP guys win the douche award on a weekly basis.

In case you can't tell, it is a student starting a post to hype up his school. It has been happening all over this board lately. If the students have time to come on here during the day, so be it.

As for my posts, I simply invite you not to read them. I try as hard as I can to make every post as objective as possible and when I have an opinion on something, I specifically state that something is my opinion and nothing else.

Here is a fact for you, like it or not, the HHP girls basketball team is the WINNINGEST program in SCISA in the last 10 years. Boys or Girls. In terms of number of wins, winning percentage and number of championships.

If you consider yourself a class act, then I will gladly accept douche award every week.

hhp - I find it hard to sing praise for a coach that up by 40+ in the 4th Qtr has his starters on the floor running a full court press. I have witnessed that. Don't hand me the argument about kids get hurt when you ask them to let up. There are plenty of things you can do with your team without asking them to let up that won't be rubbing the other's team's noses in it.

hhp - I have carefully reviewed my post and can find no evidence I was disrespecting either you or Dr. Bob. So, I'll let it stand.
ksu - Thanks for the update. I believe that I was remembering Ashley Scott and Northwoods, when I posted. Seems like PW edged HHP a number of years ago when both were in the same region.

Going undefeated in the last region alignment was not as impressive as the record posted during the
alignment with NW, PG and Pinewood. This year will be interesting, getting all those schools back in the region together. Ashley Hall and Pinewood are bit stronger and Northwood probably a bit more team oriented than the A. Scott days.

It seems we only name coaches that win Championships each year or every other year...I hope noone takes this the wrong way (but some coaches that get credit for always winning and being a great coach should be known as a great recruiter and not a great coach). And no (before I hear from all the prep people) I'm not speaking of Sulek. There are some very good coaches in the up state as well...Wilson Hall may have 2 of the best basketball coaches in SCISA and NO...I'm not a fan of WH. Florence doesnt have that many great coaches (really they dont have that many good teams) but I know Columbia has some solid coaching as well. Tough to name just a select few bc there are some very good coaches that havent won a title yet and may never win one.

My response to that is that out of the 65 or so straight wins that HHP has over SCISA teams, about 20 of those are teams from the Charleston region. HHP has continued to play almost all of those teams at least once every year.

I have to admit i am no Dr. Bob person. He has been known to be overly obnoxious and arrogant. Hard to argue with his success. Talent helps. He also has not had a lack of talent in years. A bad coach can win with talent-see Dillon Christian Football as an example.

Seems HHP and NW girls will have nice battles this year. I have a feeling it will lead to HHP coming out on top AGAIN. Seriously..who does Prep play this year in SCISA that can play them close? Maybe there are a few 3A schools that can keep it close but that just means them sitting in a zone and prep holding the ball bc THEY KNOW they will win. Alot of talk about Heathwood girls this year...not sure any other team out there can knock them off. Looks like the scisa streak will be over 75 at years end.
