No joke...half this forum is always about SJCA and their athletic program. Whether it be football or basketball...after every game they are on here talking about how great they are. At least they have alot of school spirit.
watch out for dillon christian in 2a this year. They have a ton of new talent and will be one of the best teams around this area. I will say whoever put Kings in the top 5 is way off. I dont see them being top 4 in their own region. Every year there is this hype about them but they always dissapoint.

I agree with you lovebball and I also seriously doubt that a Division I college basketball coach would leave his coaching position to coach at SJCA.

Get the story straight your former coach Ron was asked to leave. This year it will be great to have a coach that will build character and respect in the program, something that the former coach new nothing about. Change is always good when it is positive and your ad has made a positive change. I wish the new coach a great season he is like me an outsider and will be able to start a new direction for sjca basketball. No disrespect to the new Coach but a former coach Willis High was great and was turning the program around when Coach Ron took over and everything went from character to what ever works no matter the cost do it! Good l SJCA hope you have a great season.

Just for clarification, when I asked the question to begin with, I was not trying to bash SJCA. I was confused; however, because I have been at CSU as a student for the past four years and I knew we had not lost a coach from our program to anywhere other than Winston Salem State, Coach Garvin and Armstrong in Savannah (could be wrong about the school) but that was a grad assistant Ryan Hillburn, and both of those guys left after this past season. I just wanted to know who this guy was claiming to be a part of CSU basketball, and when he was there, that's all. Still haven't gotten an answer to that yet, but hopefully he's telling the truth about it because if he's lying, he could have at least picked a better program to lie about working with...

You would think with all the SJCA support on here, someone would know more about the new basketball coach......

Outsider, you have no clue about the coaching situation at sjca......The former Coach Ron is an upstanding young man and a good coach. Not that Willis High was not a good coach, he was......But sjca wants there coaches to be pastors, decons, or sunday school teachers and Coach Ron was a good coach and leader but did not feel that it was his responsibility to be a spiritual leader.....Thats were the change was made.......He did not have a win at all costs attitude.....He taught his players to have high character and demanded disipline, something that was absent from the program previously....Just ask his former players and fellow coaches at sjca and around the league! Outsider you have no right to get on here and talk about our previous coach. YOU HAVE NO CLUE!!! By the way he was 33-23 at SJCA and led the team well while he was there!

I remember this a few years back when Dan Donelson told an opposing teams fan to shut the **** up and shot them the bird. SJCA has always been a laughing stock of a christian school and forever will stay way.

I would'nt say most qualified....someone said he was an assistant at Charleston Southern but I don't know.........I heard that the new coach was a good man, but I guess we'll see what kind of coach he is.......I wish them the best!

He was not an assistant at CSU. At least not within the last 5 years. Unless someone comes up with evidence or facts of that, please stop posting it.

I am guessing he only coached at CSU for a short amount of time. Sounds like a great hire....

This should clear up this discussion. Google is a wonderful thing, you guys should try it: from LinkNewberry chose Scott McCain as assistant athletics director for sports information and marketing. McCain, who has been assistant sports information director and athletics ticket manager at Charleston Southern, takes over for sports information director Ryan Rose.

This thread (like many others) has been dominated by SJCA information. Are they expected to be a favorite in AA this year? Just wondering why it has become focused on them. If they are a contender, more power to 'em.
