The discussion recently has been whether or not
Dillon Christian, Spartanburg Christian, and Cathedral deserve to be on the top ten Listings on SCISA web site. Well, that top ten is for all SCISA schools and mainly concentrates on AAA programs. If you take a hard look at AA in particular, you know that each of these 3 teams have played in difficult, competitive tip-off tourneys. However, the three schools combined have only mustered 1 win (Cathedral) against six losses. In my opinion (to this point in the season), the best AA boys program is Holly Hill (2-0). The "Raiders" defeated Thomas Sumter (AAA) in pre-season and has destroyed defending AA champ Beaufort and (AAA) Thomas Heyward in a Tip-Off Tourney. I am not saying DCS, SCA, and Cathedral do not deserve high rankings--however, until you play with the best and win, it is difficult to rank you at the top. So, here is my opinion of where we stand.
Again, this is just an opinion....
Boys-
1. Holly Hill (2-0)
2. Marlboro Academy (2-0)
3. St. John's Christian (1-0)
4. The King's Academy (2-1)
5. Spartanburg Christian (0-3)
6. Cathedral Academy (1-1)
7. Dillon Christian (0-2)
8. Richard Winn Academy
9. Calhoun Academy (1-0)
10. Charleston Collegiate

Im not backing up Dillon but looked who Spartanburg and Cathedral played in the tourneys. SCA played Pinewood and those 4A schools. Cathedrals loss was to a 3A privite school in florida and everyone knows compitition is heavy in florida. and the loss was in double over time... just my opinion

Very true, #1pointguard...You are probably right. SCA, DCS, and Cathedral may in fact be in the final four and may actually be 1, 2, and
3 presently...However, I do think the other seven programs I mentioned also deserve recognition at this point (perhaps not in the order I presented them). Holly Hill is coached by an outstanding coach and Christian man. Coach Morehead was actually our athletic director when I was a child at Lord Berkeley (SJCA). Marlboro and The King's have both come out of the gate strong. Richard Winn, Calhoun, and Charleston Collegiate look to challenge this year. Of course, I am very proud of my own SJCA team. They appear to be strong talentwise with a very deep bench. Should be a great year...
I think many of us agree that these are 10 of the strongest AA programs. Does anyone know of another program that looks to make noise??
Carolina or Beaufort perhaps...Can't rule out Coach J. Hanna at Carolina and Beaufort is the defending champ.

Charleston Collegiate is the best team in AA. Who has SJCA played so far? The Kings? Have they even made the playoffs before? Who has DC played, I havent heard much about them yet. The teams with losses have mostly played bigger schools, so I give them credit for scheduling the big boys even in losses.

Who did Calhoun beat?
Has Richard Winn not played?
Is Marlboro that good?
If anyone knows the answers let us know.

ranking teams this earlier on a few wins and losses is difficult to do. good programs play tough opponents early in order to prepare for what matters. that is conference play. on the other hand, average programs will try and play weaker teams before conference play. most polls this time of year are based on what teams did last year and what players they lost or have coming back along with their strenght of schedule.

Just wondering if CC picked up some new players, because I thought they had lost 2 or 3 from last season, and if they lost to SCA last year, who lost only one starter, I was just wondering if you say that CC is the best in AA because they have some new talent?

CC GOT A TRANSFER FROM WANDO HIGH SCHOOL THAT IS QUICK AS ANY KID IN THE STATE. ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN SCISA. THEY ALSO GOT TWO TRANSFERS FROM JAMES ISLAND. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW GOOD PLAYERS AT THIS LEVEL AND I WOULD SAY THEY HAVE MORE THAN JUST A FEW.

Are the kids from James Island the two Freshmen? I called a couple of their games at camp this summer, and they were supposed to be James Island's go to guys. Nice job recruiting those guys if it is those two!
