I hear that things may be tough for the Rebels but you can never count them out. I have seen it said before "THA will be done, this year" then they beat OP, PG and others. Who knows what the season holds, Good Luck Rebels.

Everyone has been talking about the offense this whole time. Look at Steelerfreak's signature Defense wins games. Period. Have you heard about their defense? I heard they held their own against a local public school. Not sure who or how good the public school was in comparison, but I don't know. If anyone saw that game i would like you to tell me how they did. I believe they are gonna do better than you placed them sorry Truth

Yes, Thomas Heyward will have a tough defense this year, but I keep hearing that their numbers are really down (19 kids???) and that they lost a couple of key players that they were counting on....Nathan Polk and a lineman. No chance they finish last, however.....they always figure it out and will play everybody hard! I figure middle of the pack. I still say Northwood, Colleton, and HHP battle it out for the region. HHCA and St. Andrews will also be tough. HHCA just won a scrimmage the other night. It will be a very interesting year. Pretty darn strong from top to bottom!!

Try to tell that to the Cleveland Browns or Texas Rangers.

From Midlandspreps.com:

Week zero: Hilton Head Prep at Dorchester Academy

HILTON HEAD PREP at DORCHESTER ACADEMY

Who: Hilton Head Preparatory School (11-3 in 2007) at Dorchester Academy (1-10 in 2007)

Where: Wamer Field, St. George

When: Today, 7:30 p.m.

What's important: Quarterback Matt Layman showed that his ankle was healed in last week's one-quarter scrimmage against Wade Hampton. Now the sophomore will have to show that it can hold up for an entire game. Layman, who steps into the shoes Michael Hermann vacated, gets his first full turn running the Dolphins' spread offense against a Pirate defense that Prep scored 33 points against last year. If the passing game struggles, Layman can hand the ball to running back Dylan Rosser. The Dolphins added more running plays to their playbook to take advantage of Rosser's skills.

Directions: From U.S. 278, merge onto Interstate 95 North toward Florence. Take exit 77 for U.S. 78 toward St. George. Turn left onto U.S. 78 and travel 3 miles before turning left on Academy Road. The school is located half a mile down Academy Road.

Projected starters

Offense: Matt Layman, QB; Dylan Rosser, RB; DeAnte Scott, WR; Patrick Andrews, WR; Ben Perry, WR; Alex Orford, WR; Ian Anderson, RT; Leo Magrini, RG; Devin White, C; Dylan Place, LG; Joe Webb, LT. Defense: Patrick Andrews, DE; Alex Orford, DE; Ian Anderson, DT, Joe Webb, DT; Dylan Rosser, OLB; Ben Perry, OLB; Kevin Glick, ILB; Nick Haidon, ILB; Andrew Bennett, CB; DeAnte Scott, CB; Will Hodde, S. Special teams: Tom Thomas, K/P; DeAnte Scott, PR; Dimitri Lowry, KR; Creighton Quinn, KR.

Prediction

Dorchester will be better this year than last year, but not enough to beat Prep -- Dolphins by 20.

Hilton Head teams are always competitive.

Just a little opinion based on what I knew at the end of last year and what teams I can think of off the top of my head.

Northwoods will be good. I don't see TSA dropping off. They lost 3 on defense and 4 on offense. Calhoun will be around as will the HH teams. Don't see Dorchester or Colleton yet. Pee Dee is a ? for me. This year looks wide open in AA.
