If you are talking about the top SCISA schools competing with the bottom AAAA schools in SCHSL, then yes, I think they could compete.

If you are talking about the top SCISA schools competing with schools like Beaufort High School or even AA and AAA powers like Timberland and Hilton Head High, there is no possible way.

No, not Timberland/Beaufort! I do think that Beaufort's region sucks this year and that the schools I've seen in SCiSA have just as much talent. But I don't think that they could compete with the powerhouses. The separation comes with the Offensive and Defensive Lines! SCISA's lineman pail in comparison! At the runningback/WR/QB positions, I think SCISA could hang a little. But no, I agree that they are not there yet, but they are starting to get there.

We (SJCA) are doing our best to be competitive in SCISA Class A. We do not wish to compete at any higher level nor do I feel that we would be too successful at either a higher level of SCISA and definitely not in the public school leagues at this time.

Though our supporters are very enthusiastic, at this point, we simply do not have the numbers to play much less compete at a higher level.

I wish our boys every success this weekend as we play Bible Baptist for the Lower State Class
A Championship.

The Lord has blessed us with a successful first year back in 11-man football. I knew we had an excellent young coach in Bill McCall during our previous State Runner-Up finishes in 8-man during 2004, 2005. His knowledge of football coupled with the devotion of our players to this coach and coaching team has made this a successful campaign. It is great the Lord has provided us with an outstanding leader in Coach Bill to lead our boys. I am truly blessed to enjoy the ride.

My thanks to our players for the SJ cap you all gave me this week. I will wear it often.

Like I said before, SCISA schools can not compete with AA SCHSL schools. Can they compete with SCHSL A schools, yes they can. Would some schools make the A playoffs, yes. Could any of these SCISA AAA schools stay with in two touchdowns of SCHSL A powers Blackville-Hilda and Calhoun County, absolutely not! With that being said,

I don't think that SCISA AAA schools even come close to matching up with some of the bottom schools in SCHSL AAAA. Don't get me wrong, there are some match ups that would be very favorable for SCISA in the lowcountry and upstate. Let's take a look at my argument The best region in SCISA is the AAA Columbia region with out a doubt. (This region is 1-4 against SCHSL A/AA schools this season) Hammond, HHES, Ben Lippen, and ACS are all quality football teams regardless of classification. The region they would compete in if they were part of AAAA SCHSL would be Region 5. The bottom half of that region (NOT THE UPPER HALF) are Aiken, O-W, Dutch Fork, and White Knoll. Now if we played a round robin how many games would those four SCISA schools win against this bottom half of Region 5. Dutch Fork and O-W would not lose a single game and that is a fact. White Knoll: possibly. Aiken: probably not. I bet if you research the rosters of the two D1 conferences in this region of the country (ACC, SEC) you will find more scholarship players from these four bottom feeding programs than you will from all of SCISA. Do the same research for the two D1-AA conferences (SO CON, Big South) and you will find more players from these same bottom feeding AAAA schools than from all of SCISA.

Basketball: the best SCISA teams can compete with anyone.
Baseball, Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Tennis, the SCISA programs are just as good and better in some places.

FOOTBALL is a whole nother world brother.

Agree SCISA would struggle in footall because of the size and speed but I promise you that L.A. could hang with most 3A public schools in baseball because of the amount of good pitching they have on the team.

Pitching has always been the great equalizer, particularly in high school! With 2-3 very good pitchers you can normally win state (ACS 2005,2006,and 2007).

That's a pretty fair assessment bigdaddy---later!
