The only reason St Johns lost was b/c Bowman thought they were still playin football and they had the refs in their back pocket......St Johns had 4 players foul out and Bowman had none! That home cookin must be good! Donelson led the Cavs with 29 but did not recieve any help! Not to mention that St. Johns was missin one of their starters and their sixth man!! They missed those guys last night but we'll see what's up come Friday against First Baptist....The cavs will be ready!!!!

Get your facts correct please: 1.) SJCA has split their games with Bowman...soundly defeating Bowman in Moncks Corner 76-59...however, losing at Bowman Friday 59-52 in an indoor football homecookin' style match-up without starter Preston Furr (injury) or Corey Furr (illness)...Bowman had to chop block Dan Donelson late in the first half to pull it out. 2.) First Baptist-Charleston actually asked that the first game be cancelled and SJCA mutually agreed because of weather that day. Neither team was attempting to avoid the other. Now, lets talk scheduling...as several have brought it up...true, we are in the easier end of our schedule...however, overall, if you were to rate schedule difficulty among AA Boys, we have the second toughest overall schedule among AA teams..second only to Spartanburg Christian. Believe me, I have studied about every AA schedule in the state and that is a fact. No, our schedule does not compare with AAA Pinewood or AAA Porter-Gaud nor should it. In the course of the year our boys will face First Baptist-Charleston, Laurence Manning, Cathedral (conference game), Charleston Collegiate (conference game), and Holly Hill. We even tried to schedule a matchup with Dillon Christian -- they refused...so, we will win some and lose some throughout this year...but rest assured...we will come ready to play and always pull for our boys. Lets GO CAVS!! |

i dont understand y every1 is talking about sjc. who do they play? wud they beat any 4a, 3a, or 2a teams in the state? And i can answer that question 4 u. NO!! They dont even dominate in scisa. not less 2a scisa. So pleez let them beat some1 important and then get on this and talk about how good they are. And pleez will the talk about the little donelson kid pleez stop. We all know wat kind of competition yall play. So pleez save ur self the embarassment wen asked who he is scoring 30 and 40 points on, and ur answer be holly hill academy or bowman academy or some1 else not in 3a scisa.

ur right about the SJCA schedule, wrong about Donelson, he can play with anyone.
Cavfan, its a laughable statement to say you have a tough schedule, dont know every game yall have played but i know you have played 3 REALLY bad teams: Bowman twice- a 1A school Lowcountry day twice- a 1A school Williamsburg twice- a team thats one 3 games the past 2 years combined I know Cathedral has been playin some good teams, Beaufort has had a lot of big schools, Carolina has played TSA and Wilson Hall, Holly Hil played in that tourney and OPS. SJCa may have a good team, but you have to be ridiculous about calling that schedule tough. At least play AA or AAA teams that stink instead of really bad 1A teams |

Hoopsfan,
Thanks so much for your support of Donelson. You are correct, he can play with anyone. Glad to hear you got a laugh out of the statement about the schedule. Please, re-read it. It states we are in the easier end of our schedule. True, our competition has not been that great thus far. However, by the end of the week..it heats up as we face First Baptist-Charleston and are in the First Baptist Tourney. As for the other teams mentioned, the only tough team Holly Hill has played thus far is OPS-and Holly Hill lost...but, is OPS that great?..they lost to Charleston Collegiate 70-47 in that said tourney. Cathedral has played in an out of state tourney but has also beaten Class A (sub-par) Trident 83-23 and Patrick Henry...so, their schedule thus far has not been that tough yet. Beaufort has played and lost to several public schools. Did that do anything for their program other than humiliate their kids? Beaufort has beaten Cathedral 69-67. Carolina--yes they have played Wilson Hall and lost...and barely beat Thomas Sumter 60-59.. other than that they have faced also-ran AA programs thus far. Scheduling is a tough job... If you are at a mid-level AA SCISA school you want the right mix of tough games and games you should win... Again, thanks for your support of Dan and I am glad to have provided a laugh for you...hopefully, one day, we can get that scheduling down..Merry Christmas!! |

Holly Hill is slow and methodical like a lot of AA teams. They want to walk it up and run a 4 or 5 pass offense and utilize Martin. OP is a lower level AAA ( who isn't nowadays) that has pretty athletic boys if not the most talented bunch of basketball players. They made HHA try to run the floor and HHA simply could not keep up. HHA is a good team if they are allowed to play their style. Martin does not run the floor weel and seems to tire quickly as HHA has no bench to speak of. Don't ask me about the HHP game but that is a great win for HHA. Look for HHA to contend if they canplay their style. If not it could be an early exit.
