Just heard today that King's, Byrne's, and Pee Dee were only playing b-team and had agreed to play 5th thru 8th graders, so their 9th graders will play varsity. Seems that they would let other teams know well before they showed up with 8th graders to play a b-team game. Scisa B-teams is suppose to be 5th - 7th graders. Junior Varsity is open fo 5th - 9th graders. Varsity for 8th - 12th graders. This may be the reason for King's having 8th graders on B-team. Hopefully this was breakdown in communications between schools and not deliberate act on behalf of King's.

Thats nice for Byrnes and Pee Dee but this was a King's and Florence Christian scrimmage and how can you agree to play whatever you feel like when the rules state different its like making up your own rules as you go u cant do that and im sure if FCS knew that rule had been made up dont you think they would have have brought some 8th and 9th graders???

Eagle, I agree with you. That is why I said that it seems that they would have let other teams know that they were planning to play 8th graders. As long as everyone knows the ground rules, no one can complain. The easiest thing to do is to stick with the Scisa rules and then they are no misunderstandings. 5th graders just learning to play a contact sport have no business going up against 8th graders. This should not be choice of an Atheletic Directoror head coach when Scisa has already set guidelines for grade elgibility.

My2cents...Are you new to SCISA? I mean Fanning and company, change the rules as the see fit and they never stay the same..It depends which school breaks them, to how they are enforced! Wink

HERE IS A GREAT IDEA...for all FCS fans and players who like to cry and moan all the time. QUIT playing football. I hear people complain all the time about other teams and players (throughout SCISA in the Columbia area). I dont know that much about FCS but I do know Cardnial Newman plays them in a few weeks but FCS needs to quit crying bc from the SCISA page it seems they are a 2A shool. Last I heard they have over 650 kids in their school. Someone explain that one to me? If they dont win in 2A they better never come to 3A. Enjoy whipping the small little schools in 1A and 2A when you are the size of a 3A school

Fan, why wouldn't someone complain if they thought their kids were playing 5th - 7th graders and a team showed up with 8th graders? You say for them to quit football! Why don't the teams that can't field teams with-in the grade requirements of Scisa.

This arrangement of allowing some schools who cannot field enough players for a JV team is not new, it's been known for several weeks now. Why the FC coaches were not aware of it, or if in fact they did not know about it....I cannot say but it's certainly something that they should have known beforehand and most likey someone did know this ahead of time within FC ranks somewhere along the line!!

I am sick of FC and their fans complaining. They get away with everything...they set up the easiest schedules in everything so they can win and now they play 2A football when they are bigger than most 3A schools. What message does that send...play easy teams so you can ALWAYS win. I cant wait for them to play 3A football and once again be dominated in that like everything else thanks to LMA and Wilson Hall. They probably wish they were 2A in everything playing in our region against Pee Dee and Dillon each year. Everyone says Dillon recruits all the time but I know for a fact FC has been out this summer getting kids for football. Look at their roster and the new kids from Wilson High School and others. They just want everyone to think they are the high and mighty and do no wrong. We play them in football this year and I cant wait for some hard nose football or what they like to call cheap shots.

I want to know what's wrong with getting kids from wilson high school and other schools. The difference in FC and other private schools is that those new kids parents are paying every dime!!! I mean uncle John might be paying but the school aint. There is NO free ride at FC. They don't give out scholarships like other schools do. so if you have a problem with FC or other SCISA schools recruiting take a hike!!! and what school are you from LOVEBBALL? cause i will try to make it to the game we play yall?

okay to address some of the previously spoken of topics.... 1 we have no ninth graders playin b-team Eagleman u r retarted. 2) and as far as hard hitting i heard that u lost a d-lineman for the season becuase of a perfectly legal hit that he couldn't handle.... 3) and everyone at FCS is basicaly a pansy for playin 8 man last year when they had squads as big as 3a schools. OO yea and Kings is supposed to be dirty when it was FCS who had 4 unsportsmen like conduct penalties while Kings had 1 and that was our QB choke slamin one of ur fat d-lineman after his late hit...

Read my post again eagleman and figure it out! It's pretty clear who I support. I havent attended high school for MANY years. 4 unsportsmanlike penalties? Wow, I think the church and school should be very proud great job coach. You can try and justify everything we bring up but the fact that your coach is going out and asking kids to attend FCS for sports is not right. I believe SCISA says a coach is not suppose to approach kids about coming to their school. Bottom line...FCS is no better than anyone else although they want everyong to think they are. Go play in 3A where ya'll should be already...enjoy winning every game by 30 points. Hope you guys feel like you have really accomplished something when you win 2A State.
