Quite frankly you looked a bit overmatched. Much like Northwood did it's first couple of years in football. Don't take this the wrong way, I remember us getting shellacked by HHCA and HHP those first couple of years. Two years later we're more on an even playing field with them.
Keep your head up - you guys will get there. Other than HHCA later in the year, Northwood is probably a good bit better than the other teams on your schedule. Good luck rest of the season.

Cathedral was quite overmatched. Northwood had many more skilled athletes, and several of the cathedral kids were playing their first game. That having been said, we fought hard to the end - a new thing for the Generals. Past teams tended to tuck their tails and just go through the motions. Hopefully getting to class A region games for the next few weeks will offer us a great chance to win. See you in Moncks Corner!

It's time for N'woods to move on up. The SCISA website says they have loads of kids. I don't want to hear anymore excuses. The "we just started football " bit doesn't work anymore either. Time to quit trashing Cathedral types and play the real deal.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with their classification, but if you move up NW, HHP, and HHC like some want, you'll end up with like 7 teams in your class. There are so few teams playing football that in order to have 3 classes, there has to be some people playing out of class.

HHP and HHC could not compete in AAA. Northwoods will be able to or should be able to now. Too many kids to be in AA.
Replay is for people who can't see it fast enough!

The Northwood numbers are misleading. Most of our students are elementary and middle school. We are the largest AA football team, but I don't think we've ever beaten a AAA school in football. Also this years senior class is a big (number) group of athletic kids. After this year we'll probably drop off a bit unless an influx of athletes come in.

None of those teams are playing out of class. Pay attention to the rules. They are very defined and all three of those teams fall well under them. Football is different than all of the other sports because it only accounts for boys in grades 8-11. SCISA takes the total number of boys in those grades and then sets the classifications. All of the other sports account for all kids in grades 8-11. Hilton Head Prep and Hilton Head Christian both play AA football because they have a disproportionately high number of girl students. It's great for the boys at the schools, not so good for boy's athletic programs.

I think NW deserves a break after having to spend all these years competing in a tiny conference with PW and PG.
