OK, Guys,

It's only halfway through football season. Let's save the basketball talk at least until November.

What's the word on tonight's game? Any predictions (other than oldschool pinewood's)?

Talk it up. Gametime is in 4 1/2 hours.

Heard the game has been moved due to Stoney Field being underwater. Is St John's Field at the school?

It's behind the school and past the corretional institute. ( and before any of you smart a**es make comments: they are not one and the same, SJCA's is a perfectly respectable Christian school , not a prison! Smiler

I'll make my own prediction:

A talented and well-coached SJCA team takes the field brought back to earth (but with hard earned expience) from last week's contest with WA secure in the knowledge that 30 years ago this week, LBA/SJCA won it first ever varsity football game.

With this edge, SJCA is able to overcome a hard-hitting PC team full of exceptional athletes in a closely contested game.

Or, on the other hand, the game could be rained out.

Thoughts?

Tonight's final was:
St. John's Christian 42,
Palmetto Christian 13
Game was played at St. John's Field in Moncks Corner. Congrats to Brandon Biggs on his first ever touchdown.

Correct me if I am wrong, yellodraggin, but the 1978 Lord Berkeley varsity team's first win 30 years ago was a 12-0 win over Country Day. We also beat Bowman Academy 14-6 and Sheldon Academy (near Allendale - now closed) 7-6 that season and went 3-8 on our first ever 11-man football team in 1978. Great memories !!

Hi Cav Fan #1,

You hit the CD and BA wins right on the head. I went back and looked at the schedule and record of the scores that I made while playing and I saw that I wrote down the LBA/Sheldon score as 17-14.

I think I remember us kicking a field goal to win that game. I think that stuck out in my mind because it was the only field goal we made all year. Of course, it's been 30 years and a little rust has accumulated in the memory banks.

Good luck this week with HHA.
