I don't know that it would "HAVE" to be Florence Christian.

The Hilton Head Prep JV is 5-0
at Bible Baptist 45-6
home HHCA 28-12
at Colleton Prep 34-21
at HHCA 19-0
home Bible Baptist 36-6

I'm gonna have to go with WH after seeing those scores...I just dont understand how certain varsity programs can dominate football and yet their JV teams just arent that good...

Oh wait, I know how it works...you dont build a program...you buy it. My bad, I must be an idiot for not figuring that one out.

lovebball - I don't know who you are talking about but ACS has one 8th grader and two 9th graders starting on the varsity. Also, ACS had 3 or 4 JV players transfer because their parents couldn't afford the tuiton any longer. Be careful what you insinuate if you don't know the whole story!

WOW, Mr ACSLIONS...when I made that statement I never had Augusta Christian in mind...but since it seems I put a sour taste in your mouth I'd say your trying to defend soemthing. Man, that's amazing that I could make one little statement and you get that worked up over it. Go join a GEORGIA league!

CPA beat WHS to death in a scrimmage & in the jamboree. If CPA doesn't have injuries the were the best.

Who did you have in mind lovebball? ACS' score against WH JV was included and you wondered how certain varsity programs dominate and their JV teams aren't doing very well. All I was doing was pointing out why ACS was down in JV. You didn't put a sour taste in my mouth and I'm certainly not worked up about anything you said. Why do you have a problem with ACS being in SCISA? By the way, WH has had the best junior high and JV program in the six years ACS has been in SCISA. Every year they have tremendous numbers participating and they are fun to watch.

WH is a year or two away from having another wave of really strong classes come through much as they did from the late 90's until this years senior class.I think JV success correlates to Varsity sucess more so in football than in other sports, because basketball, baseball, etc can change on the addition or subtraction of 1 or 2 key players.Football is more of a numbers game, however a great player or 2 can also alter things there quickly as well.I look for WH to return to prominence in football in a couple of years, but whether that tranlates into championships remains to be seen.SCISA is a different league now compared to 5-10 years ago.I look for the big city teams with large populations to draw from to continue to be strong year in and year out.

I'm not so sure about "how it works" but I can tell you this. The team that does well in JV had talent arrive to them as a gift from god. If that team then sucks at Varsity, it only means that the gift from god was taken for granted. More often than not, the results of a varsity program only spotlight whether the kids have been working to build upon what god gave them (and they have used) in the previous 3 or 4 years.
