Didn't they lose to Hammond, Ben Lippen and Orangeburg Prep? But seriously, 5 in a row is no joke. But I don't think they have what it takes to win it all. Just my opinion.

Didn't the Giants lose to New England, Dallas in the regular season and then go on to beat them both before winning the Super Bowl! That's tired. It's about who's hot at the right time! They lost to Ben Lippen in 2ot! They lost to OB Prep on last play of the game by a lucky tipped ball, and they just weren't gelling together during Hammond! They had 5 turnovers and only lost by two scores, in which one of theirs was called back on a questionable call! I see your point, but it's very weak!

Pinewood is very talented and can beat anyone they play. I could see it in their film before playing them. It was confirmed seeing them in person. ACS was totally overmatched athlete wise.

From every thing I have heard, ACSLion, last night's game was a battle.

I have a feeling Pinewood and Augusta Christian will be seeing each other again in a couple of weeks. If there is a dark horse to de-throne Hammond, its either Pinewood or Augusta Christian.

But, first things first. The Panthers need to put their feet back on the ground to face a well-coached, tough-as-nails Wilson Hall team that has to be more than a little mad after being upset by rival Laurence Manning last night (making the Barons inexplicably 0-2 in rivalry games this season).

I agree oldschool! At this point it's tough to say who is the best! Heathwood is still hanging around waiting for someone to get cocky! I do think that Pinewood is near their potential at the right time! When it clicks they could be dangerous!

athleticbooster8-thanks for the compliments. I agree it was an excellent game, both teams played hard. I've seen all of PW's games this year and I would rate last night as the best game of the season. Traditionally, PW fans do support the team, usually a fairly large group travels to away games, home crowds have been excellent also this year. I suspect the horrible weather combined with the long drive was a major factor in the small turnout last night. I don't know what the weather was like in Augusta during the day, but in the Low Country we had a driving rain all day which, as is typical here, caused many streets to flood. I'm told last night some streets here had water several feet deep. Anyway, an excellent game by both teams and fun to watch.

Well I guess that win over a traditional powerhouse ACS team is considered Pinewood's first big win----congrats! Nobody can ever use that "You don't have a win over a quality opponent line again"! Congrats again and good luck against those boys from Wilson Hall. Later!

I agree with future_prospect the team has over five college prospects on the team graduating this year, and also some of the juniors are already picking up interest.

Deep Snapper - who are your five seniors that have college offers, besides Gilliard and what are the colleges?

There are currently 5 Pinewood seniors listed as prospects by Scout.com (all are 1-stars at present):

RB Melvin Lesure (Pinewood Preparatory School) Summerville, SC 5-10/185/4.60

WR LaQuan Gilliard (Pinewood Preparatory School) Summerville, SC 6-3/175 Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, Newberry, Presbyterian, South Carolina

TE Justin Bishop (Pinewood Preparatory School) Summerville, SC 6-5/220

DT Paul Bogensberger (Pinewood Preparatory School) Summerville, SC 6-1/240

LS Robert White (Pinewood Preparatory School)
Summerville, SC 6-4/235

I am not sure that anyone other than Gilliard has offers in hand (PC & Newberry with many more coming). I would think Lesure and Bishop will be offered by SoCon or Big South schools. Bogensberger, White, and OL Francois Gaudreault (6-2/295) should get Div. II offers or possibly walk-on somewhere and earn a scholarship.

Robert white is being looked at by west point very hard and citadel, and georgia has requested film on him. Also villanova and ohio state.
Paul Bogensburger has heard from PC quite a bit and other 2a schools. Francois is getting looked at by many D2 schools. Bishop is being looked at by citadel and furman very hard as well. And our full back moses richardson is already getting invites from CSU as a junior. Sean Hamilton is getting invites to Clemson along with anthony lax.
THose are quite a few colleges looking at Pinewood Prep in my opnion.
