Chaz...that is not the problem. Most people can agree that in certain situations, it's not a bad thing to help a child obtain private education, especially in a case like yours. To be honest...you seem to be splitting hairs a bit as the big problem is not with 2nd graders!!I seriously doubt anyone is going to question you paying for your nephew who is in the second grade....even if he eventually becomes the next SCISA superstar!

The basis of these "recruiting" complaints are people going across town and paying for a 10th grader, junior...or senior from a state funded school that just happens to be a good athlete! These guys are paying entirely for his FIRST year of private school with no real process other than the kid can run a 4.4, dunk a basketball or whatever.

Now....I am sure that there are kids out there that no doubt deserve the chance at a private education....but how many other students already enrolled in those same private schools need help that are being overlooked because they are not considered to be a valuable athlete? Good question...you bet it is, not to mention the moral/ethical implications either!

I think it's great that some schools have aid programs in place and actually help the kids already in private school stay put, irregardless if they are an athlete, or not. It's also good that they have a process to go through to receive aid based on need, not athleticism. As a matter of fact...that is wonderful and these schools should be proud of what they are doing, it's definitely a class act. What does concern me...and alot of other people...is the boosters that go out and look for high school aged athletes "only" and irregardless of their academic prowness, pay the tuition.

Agreed. The point I was making. I have no problem with you paying for a family member chaz. That's respectable. If someone wants to even pick up a kid in need in lower school and help out that's fine. I was speaking upon the times when people start paying for high schoolers. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings too much, it wasn't a singled out attacked upon yourself. I was calling out the integrity of schools such as DCS who not only has a classless athletic system, but the faculty, staff, parents, and students are all corrupt as well.
