i disagree with first baptist beating sas by 1. FB lost to THA by 3 i think, and SAS beat THA 35-14.(it was 35-14 after the 1st half)

from the blue book:

GUIDELINES FOR A PLAYER DISQUALIFICATION/EJECTION FROM AN ATHLETIC EVENT
FIRST OFFENSE: If the disqualification is for unsportsmanlike, or flagrant illegal conduct, a $100 Fine, an official warning and a One Game Suspension.

Disqualification/Ejection Procedure: School Procedure of a Player or Coach Disqualification:

1. The school will file a Form B (Disqualification/Incident Report). A school must state the action taken by the school. The school will also mail the appropriate fine (see above).

2. A student or coach shall always have the right of due process. The school may file an appeal of the disqualification/ejection if the school can produce evidence that either the wrong player was identified or that a rule was misapplied.

3. If a player is to be suspended for one game, it may not necessarily be the next game.

Old School you did a great job picking your winners this week, but your record with the point spread you posted you missed afew others. The FB game as posted above and Thomas Sumter did not beat RWA by 12 only 2. Your winng picks are impressive, but don't think you can count them as win without covering the spread.

Hey mudbug, 18-1 looks pretty good from where I am sitting. Congrats to OldSchool for an almost perfect week regardless of the spread.

Thanks, I think.

I think my "point spreads" tend to be a little conservative - most of the time the winner "covers" by a lot. My main goal is to be closer to reality than Godfather a/k/a Doodle Wink.

In all seriousness, point spreads in High School are kind of meaningless when they are more than say 10 points. High school coaches - at least the good ones - are teachers first. Once a game is either "won" or "lost", good coaches know its time to get other kids in and let them "learn by doing." In determining "point spreads", I don't put a lot of thought into how one team's 2nd string might fare against another team's 2nd string. And I certainly don't factor in those coaches who might keep their 1st string in despite being down 3 or 4 TDs in the 4th quarter.

You are right, as I stated in my post, but if you are going to post the spead and a team does not make the spread you have to pay out (It's not a winner). If not, Vagas would triple the money they take from weak souls.

Yes, you did an outstanding job picking the winners and I did not mean to be so technical. Some time a moral victory can do some teams a world of good, especially when they are in the game frm state to finish.

Great Job!

And thanks for your time and interest in your posts. The make the board enjoyable. We all get caught up into the smack talk some of us endure on other boards.

I personally agree with OldSchools pick with on the CA/DA game. Wienges will step in at QB if Robinson can not play. I expect Calhoun to utilize Wienges by taking advantage of his mobility and let him run the ball along with Love in the backfield most of the game. If Calhoun can avoid a lot of third and long situations they should be ok.

I actually think Charleston Collegiate vs. Palmetto Christian is a toss-up. But as I've posted before, calling it a toss-up is a cop-out. Sometimes, you have to toss a coin and call it a +1.
