where nactually in the stronger region (HHP, Northwood, HHC, THA), and i see us finishing with a state chapionship trophy in our hands...and the whole thing about dorchester, my freshmen year (4 years ago), we had nothing but freshmen, and we got killed by dorchester like 70-0, they didnt even take out there starters until the 4th, but we said, we'll be back in 3 years to play yall, but of course, we dont play them, but i would give anything to play them this year... i wouldnt want it to be 70-0 because unlike that team, i have respect. now the team may have changed but i still kind of hold a grudge against doprchester

do you mean that SAS is not in 1A. I though for sure since saints21 sees a state championship, they were in 1A. After all they were 1-3 in games against 1a last year. And they did beat Cathedral by a touchdown.

I don't think anyone is counting anyone out. Give us a reason to count your teams in the running. Returning starters, transfers, coaching changes etc.,that will make your team a contender. A week from tommorow will be first day in full pads, so what's your team going to do?

I think CH returns most of their team, including several skill positions. I don't know if Cantey graduated, if he didn't and they can resolve the issues surrounding him, then they should do very well
Shawn Thacker is a fine coach, and more importantly a fine man, and will build a first class program as AD and football coach.

I'm counting Clarendon Hall out.

St. Andrews won't win their region, much less a state championship.

Dorchester beat us 40 something to 13 my junior year and ran trap, counter, and dive the entire 2nd half, they were just to big for us to stop. I'm sure that was the same case in you're instance, especially against a bunch of freshman. You probably thought they didn't take out their starters because their 1A and usually only have about 15 players on the entire team. We don't carry around 30 players like most AA/AAA teams.

I think you need 2 things to win in 1A State this year.

1. Passing game
2. Defense

Teams that have that

1. Byrnes
2. Laurens

Teams that sorta have that

1. W.W. King
2. Williamsburg
3. Dillon Christian

Teams I know nothing about, but may be a huge sleeper!

1. Bible Baptist

Teams I know nothing about period.

1. Myrtle Beach Christian
2. Palmetto Christian

There are two teams in Region one no one has really mentioned here Cathedral and St. Johns. Is there anything there or will both teams continue to struggle?

St. Johns won 3 games last year, one by forfeit. Moving up from 8-man i doubt if they will improve on that.
I dont know anything about Cathedral.

SJCA won't be very good at all. A little under Clarendon Hall.

As far as Cathedral, they improved a lot last year in the second year of their program. I'd like to say they would be even better this year, but I'm almost positive they lost a lot of seniors. Roughly 6-8. They should be middle of the road.

I think Clarendon Hall, CCS, & Cathedral will be about middle of the road, maybe less than average. If they play the game of their life and you mess around, it'll be a dogfight. Other than that, you should walk out with a "W" everytime.

its not smart to count anybody out of the running yet? i can guarantee you saint johns will put up a fight in every game. and 8 man teams will be decent by years end laurens plays sjca first game of the season at st. johns so we will see how the 8 man facto affests them

we shall indead see. Laurens defeated SJCA 60-18 last year. I don't know how it will turn out but LA is looking foward to playing 11 man this year.

It's not smart to think SJCA will have a snow balls chance in hell of having a winning record, much less being in every game. 11 man is a whole new world kid, you can think 8 man is competitive all you want, but you're about to be in for a world of disappointment, if going to SJCA isn't a heartbreaker enough. Just start practicing basketball kid, it's the only thing you got. And I can GUARANTEE you that SJCA will be in every game this year as well, at least until to opening kick-off that is.
