Hmmm.. Very interesting !!

Remember to stop by the Concession Stand tomorrow night in "The Corner" for some of Mrs. Jackie's "World Famous Barbeque."

A lot of good cooking going on in Moncks Corner.

We will be showing off a new entrance and exit to the football field as well...Win or lose, life is sweeter as a "Cavalier" !!

Let's "GO CAVS" !!

Thanks for the advertisement, but you didn't answer the question.
Playing your cards close to yuor vest just isn't your style. You love to talk about all of your kids at St. Johns.
Iguess the new wife keeps you on a short teather!

Good luck tonight!

There has been a wealth of talent in Moncks Corner between Bekeey and Timberland, so maybe SJCA can tap into that by finally deciding to play 11 man. SJCA was never a viable option for a kid that was into football while they played 8mens football.

Really nothing to hide and not playing cards close to the vest. We have 19 boys...started with 22...Senior Stephen Bozard is lost for the entire season due to a torn ACL and surgery from an injury in a pick-up basketball game. We do have a missionary's child from Russia who is out for a few weeks due to a shoulder injury.
Another senior is out for a while due to a lingering knee injury.

We have three new boys in the remaining 19.
They include: Dexter Phillips, a Senior transfer from Timberland; Brandon Sublett, a Junior from Missouri; and a young man from Maine has just started.

Good to hear our boys showed great sportsmanship. Very glad we could help out with the water.

Wesley, hope you took the time to stop by the Concession stand and try some of our Bar-be-Que.

My wife is coaching our Varsity Cheerleaders this season. She had a rough evening due to a sprained ankle Thursday.

All in all, it was a good start to the season.
Exciting game!!

In fact I had TWO! Pretty good Q, much better than hardies or Macdonalds.
If the injury doesn't further deplete the CAVS I think you guys should have a good season.

Heat and humitity were rough on all the players, lots of leg cramps for both teams.
I've been associated wirh SCISA for about 30 years, and I've seen very few opening games with as much hard hitting as this one.

Both teams made the type of mistakes you expect for an opening game and will only get better. I think Lauren's numbers made the difference, as we were able to keep fresh legs in the game , and St. John's couldn't.
Two well matched teams and a good game to watch.

.
My two cents.

I felt like Laurens may have come in overconfident. The first quarter they really were outplayed by the Cavs. It took Laurens a little time to settle fdown and adjust to the extra people on the field. It looked a lot differnt from 8 man ball with angles and extra lineman.

After hearing about last years score I wasn't expecting much from St John's. I think those guys bought into the program coach is teaching. The Phillips kid helped a lot. That boy is just downright fast with moves.

I thought the game was evenly matched and St John's may have played up to their abilities in the game. Should have won with first and two from the two but LA stepped up and played like champions in that point on to the end of the game.

I think Laurens learned they may have to play 48 minutes of football during the game and not just toss and catch and blow people out like last year. I think coach gets them focused on correcting some mistakes and they will go far again this year.

As for St John's, if the hurt of lossing in the fourth quarter after having a chance to put the game away with the first and two they will do fine. They should have seen they will be able to play with anyone if they just stay focused and improve.

I was impressed with the ability and play of both squads. If St John's keeps everyone else healthy they should do fine. Laurens can go as far as they set their minds to and realize they have to be prepared every week.

One more post on this game, then it's time to move on. In talking to some of our players they said when the team had their pre-game meal several people who ate the Bar-b-Que had stomach cramps and some threw up. They said it was a good thing that we had 26 players ready to go because St. John's gave them everything they could handle.
