It's time for USC to dismiss Blake Mitchell from the team for good. He has shown that rules don't apply to him and he does not appreciate the opportunities that USC has given him. I believe in giving someone a chance and USC gave him a chance last year and this is how he repays the Gamecock faithful. I say Spurrier should forget Blake and move forward with Smelley, Garcia and Beecher. Does anyone agree?

He missed a few summer classes, for God sakes. ![]() I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer. Homer Simpson |

I TOTALLY AGREE....he has shown a pattern of poor choices....Starting with the incident in 5 points then not going to summer school classes and jeez now fall classes......It's time to cut ties with him....It's his own fault he hasn't taken advantage of the opportunity the university has given him.....

Fall classes? They haven't started yet. The suspension is from the summer classes he missed. Why don't y'all let Spurrier worry about how he disciplines the players? ![]() I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer. Homer Simpson |

typical moronic fan......I could care less what spurrier does or doesn't do...what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong......
He thinks just because he is the big QB (and a medicore one at best) that he can do whatever he wants regardless of the consequences....... Can't wait to read some more of your intelligent responses.... |

He was suspended because it was wrong dumb azz. I don't think missing a few summer classes(which i'm sure alot of players do) is that big a deal. You act like he committed a crime or something. You just worry about your team and let the Carolina fans worry about ours. ![]() I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer. Homer Simpson |

Yeh, missing class doesn't sound like a big deal for some people, but look at it from my prospective.
-Silver Spur membership -8 tickets for every home game -4 tickets for away UGA, LSU & UNC -travel expences -Don't forget tailgating cost and and all the other extras. I don't care if you support the Gamecocks or Tigers and it doesn't matter whether you give $1.00 or $100,000. When part of your money goes to pay for someones education you should expect for those individuals to obey the rules and walk a straight line. Am I expecting too much? |

Nope!
For the amount of moolah I'm spending to send my son to Clemson, he'd better not skip class! The Rev GO CCHS COUGARS! GO CCHS BAND OF BLUE! GO CLEMSON TIGERS! |

I agree Chief. SOS is the coach and will wait until all the facts are in until passing judgement. Others jump to conclusions too quickly. If players can do drugs and still play on the team, missing classes certainly doesn't warrant being dismissed. Sounds like a Clempson fan dreading a repeat performance by Blake. |

Blake was "suspended" for the first game for the exact same issue he missed fall practice - missing summer school classes. Blake has already served the suspension - from practices as set forth in the USC policy. Then the "Director of Academics and Life Skills" (Raymond Harrison) a man ultimately in charge of overseeing academic guidance for all USC Athletes and a Hyman hire decides that Blake has not served the full suspension and announces the 1 game suspension. Harrison is so convinced that he is right in suspending Blake that he is rumored to have asked Blake's summer school professor for clarification of Blake's attendance THE DAY AFTER he suspended Blake. The implication here is that he was looking for someone to back up his supension and, instead, got the facts.
I understand that the decision now rests with Hyman. It will be interesting to see if Hyman does, in fact, "adhere to the school attendance policy in order to protect the integrity of the policy" or whether he rules against Blake in order to protect Harrison. I suspect that if Blake is not reinstated then all of the facts will come out, including those that could be extremely damaging to Harrison. Stay tuned, this promises to be a very interesting weekend..... |

Wow, the wolverines' disregard for innocence until guilt is proven seems to match their spelling (what's a "medicore" QB?) and their respect for other peoples' opinions. (Namecalling when you can't respond with FACTS is always so intellectually impressive, as well as heartwarming) But then, it may be a lack of experience in such matters, has any Woodruff grad actually made it to college since Tony Rice (circa 1988)?
A recent rumor by the Greenville rag is that the upcoming suspension was levied for missing class IN A COURSE THAT MITCHELL HAD DROPPED. Confession: I skipped ALL classes in ALL courses where I wasn't enrolled. Confession II: I still do. But, I'm sure the venomous rodent fans will return here to apologize with just as much vigor as they condemn and call names should "medicore" QB Mitchell win his appeal. |
