We at the WU wish him well, until we beat his new team in the paradise jam next year! Former assistant Randy Peele named the new winthrop coach. This was a good move for winthrop I feel not giving recruits any doubt that the program would change alot. Go Eagles and Shockers (I guess)

I hate to see him go, but you can't argue with the economics of it. Witchita will be paying him almost twice what he would be receiving at Winthrop.

How can you say that Fly?? Marshall was there for 8 years. He should have been snapped up by a higher profile program long ago. He had done every imaginable thing that he could accomplish at Winthrop. Are you saying that twice the money wouldn't entice you to change jobs??

1) He came to the realization that CofC is not a better job than the one he already had, and 2) The team he already had was capable of doing some damage in the NCAA Tournament.
But Wichita is clearly a better job, and it's also a program that could go deeper in the Tournament...

Another main reason he waited to was because he wants to be in the ACC, SEC etc. He was never going straight from Winthrop to that level and he would'nt have gone from CoC to that level either....Both the SoCon and Big South are viewed as low level D1 conferences...He was waiting for the right opportunity at a Mid Major that would provide him the opportunity to move on to the High D1 level. Wichita State is just that program. Look at it's history of coaches and where they moved on after leaving. If he can have the same type of success at WS that he had at Winthrop he will be roaming the sidelines of a big time program in a few short years.

You're saying USC wouldn't jump out of their feathers for Bob McKillop?
