How many games did you suspend Christian Laettner for when he stomped on the Kentucky player? (Gregg Doyel, CBS Sportsline)

First of all, would you call that a stomp?

Absolutely, I’ve seen it over and over.

Well then my judgment and yours differ.

I’ve got some glasses. Are you serious?

I’m not going to get into it with you, because you would always want something controversial.

I would just like the truth sometimes, that is all.

No, believe me. There’s nobody that likes the truth more than me. After the season we’ll talk about 1992. I would rather talk about 2007 right now.

I don't condone "cheap shots". The Henderson play was an "accident". He was going for the block but the ball was knocked out of Hansboroughs hands from behind and Hansborough got clocked in the nose. I can see where you can say he meant to foul him hard but there is no way you can convince me he leapt into the air with the idea of busting Hansboroughs face open. I really feel that it was an "accident" but the league did what they had to do in suspending Henderson for 1 game just based on the contact of the play (unintentional or not) Though I feel it isn't deserved and it is unfair to Henderson. But I guess I can see them making an example out of him (Which they sadly are) and that is okay I guess if it prevents the thought of something like this from happening again.

Thugs, Henderson should be in jail. Thats all they are............the cream rose to the top and the DOOKIES all cried. They got there cheap shot in just like always, (including against Kentucky, I remember that) but they lost.............0-2 against UNC this year..........

Screw Doyel.......I can't believe someone would quote him to make a point. He is a laughing stock in the journalism world that coaches mock. That "hot seat" you speak of looks like him asking an immature question that never got answered and he ended up looking like a fool.

And btw....what was his point? That 15 years ago, in the greatest basketball game ever played, the best player on the court got riled up and kicked a player he had been going at all night? Is that supposed to establish some sort of dirty play pattern? So you expected K to suspend the best player in college basketball for the NCAA final for that? And because he didnt (15 years ago) he promotes his players to be thugs?

That's sad.

Mox,
You're too eloquent to contribute to these two yahoos and their love/hate-fest.

Anyone with any knowledge of sports journalism knows that Greg Doyel has about as much credibility in the world as the hooker who gets deli meat thrown at her on Howard Stern.

1. Coach K is a coach.
2. His job is to win.
3. The job of all coaches is to win.
4. More often than not, Coach K does win. (yes Fly, we know UNC beat them twice this year. you've posted it plenty)

Therefore, Coach K is a good coach.

That's called logic.

And let's not lose the irony of a UNC fan referring to Duke as "thugs." I heard on the radio this morning that if Ron Artest can get arrested one more time, then UNC will automatically retire his number, even though he didn't play there.

Let's not forget history...And if you think that's a lot, you should see the football list:

Jimmie Black Basketball Domestic Violence

Ed Cota Basketball Assault inflicting serious injury, Drunk Driving

JamesOn Curry Basketball Selling and Possession of Marijuana

Phil Ford Basketball DWI (twice)

Joe Forte Basketball Possession of marijuana, Possession of a handgun

Clyde Lynn Basketball Statutory Rape

Makhtar Ndiaye Basketball Assault

Terrence Newby Basketball Assault inflicting serious injury

Julius Peppers Basketball/Football Assault

King Rice Basketball Assaulting a female

Clifford Rozier Basketball Larceny

Melvin Scott Basketball Assaulting a female

Jerry Stackhouse Basketball Assaulting a female

Rasheed Wallace Basketball Assaulting a female, Possession of Marijuana

James Worthy Basketball Soliciting Prostitution

I had to edit that for you instigator...

Yes, Fly.
I am SURE that Coach K said "come here, rising freshman star. Please go out there and make bloody this year's 'chosen one' on his home floor right before the ACC tournament."

You and your Gaffney Duke buddies are the most brainwashed fans I have ever seen in my life.

I see ugliness has reared its head again.........DOOKIE rolls downhill, you have to learn from someone...the teacher teaches the student/player performs....It might not have been Coach K but dont think that Johnny Dawkins or another asst coach doesnt whisper sweet nothings in there ears........ All three Duke assistants played for Duke, understand Duke, and were classy, emotional players. If you made any less sense, you'd be the guy who fired Matt Doherty...

I'm sure $&#* has never had any players who have ever been arrested for anything before, during or after their playing careers. They're all descendants of Jesus Christ and are perfect...you're right.

And you're also really reaching when you include people who never played for North Carolina. At least we don't accept rapists into our basketball program.

Instigator i covered Duke while both Wojo and Collins were there..Followed there whole career...Wojo was a smaller version of Tyler..he played hard every minute wasn't the most athletic but got the most out of his talent...Collins was one of the biggest aholes ever to play at Duke....He thought he was entitled because daddy played in the league and coached in the league....He played dirty, ran his mouth to players and officials, whined like a 12 month old that losses his passy....

WOJO was classy....Collins was an ahole..

I agree. I love Duke, but hate Collins.

I'm not a Collins fan, either. I see a lot of him in Paulus. I was simply commenting that the coaching staff wouldn't tell a player to hurt an opposing player. Even if they were a UNC guy...
