Without question Carolina fans are the most faithful in the conference. 1 win in 1998 - 0 in 1999 - 8 in 2000 - 9 in 2001 - 5 in 2002 - 5 in 2003 - 6 in 2004 - 7 in 2005 - 8 in 2006 - 6 in 2007. 55 wins over the last decade. 5.5 per year.
Note - Richt 10.3 avg/yr. 45 SEC wins 1992-2007, 16 years. 2.8 per year. All-time record 521–523–44 - 49 percent Postseason bowl record 4 and 9. Holz got the first, second and third bowl wins in school history against Ohio State. Have the Bucs ever beaten an SEC team ? Herbstreit didn't. Spurier got his against Houston. In 2006, CFO.com ran an article. UGA was the most profitable program in the country showing 23.9 million in profit, Michigan was 2nd at 17 mil, LSU and Bama were 9 and 10 with around 5 mil. Carolina was 5th on the least profitable programs - finishing the year with 2.7 million in the red. That's a some deep garnet. YET 1. Every game is a sell-out 2. Spurrier is paid over 2 million 3. Facilities are still a little 1970's but the 70's are back in style. Georgia is 44 and 14 against Carolina and yet it always is a sloppy game that comes down to the wire. I admire their persistence and am always hopeful in October and November that they'll pull one out. 4-21 against Florida and 3-21 against Tenn. Here are two achievable goals for the ole he's actually an old ball coach - 1. Crack the top 25 in back to back seasons. 2. Win the school's 5th bowl - You need 6 wins to make a bad bowl. 2008 potential wins - UAB, Wofford, Ark, At Kent, At Vandy and At Ole Miss. It's always tough to win on the road. These are the facts without bias. Good luck Cocks. |
