Good luck in the tourney. You SHOULD win it all, but once again, that has been said serveral times in the past
Yeah like 2005............. Roys bringing back the class like Dean did for years..........Coach K, we still waiting on you to step up to the mic and apologize...oops my bad you got your thug player Henderson to do that for you to.......along with the assault........... I'll be darned - an actual conversation. Pay attention, Fly. This is what it looks like...
Wolverine, I am directly involved in the education system in SC, and I have previously taught at one of our impoverished schools. The major issue at such a school is that students are conditioned to find stability in instability, if that makes any sense. What I'm saying is that there are SUPER high turnover rates in these districts, and that most of their teachers are those right out of college, who move on as soon as they can. I saw it while I was there, and I did the exact same thing. The school I was at was hiring their 6th principal in 7 years as I left. While parents do make a big difference, there is a correlation between impoverished communities and weak family structure. And so blaming the parents isn't necessarily plausible, in that they can't take care of themselves, much less a family. This is getting political, so I won't go further. Duke athletes seem arrogant, because they know what it means to work hard. Indeed they MUST to have been accepted to Duke, even moreso to be part of such a prestigious program. If a lower class individual wants the opportunity to attend such an institution, then they too must have this indomitable spirit. |

You better pray that Roy aint like Dean.......Dean had the most talent in the nation for 30 years and only squeaked 2 titles out of it. You wanna try and comment on that fact or just blabber something about thugs or class, etc? Still waiting on an answer about your ties to UNC.....I am gonna say Calabria arm hair lover until you make me believe otherwise. |

Coach K's only got 3 titles and still hasnt done what Dean has.......My ties to UNC, its goes back to early 70's, not that its any of your business. Dukes Lacrosse team and basketball team both get slighted this year and for good reason.........thugs, criminals, rapists, drug addicts..........and no class.............NONE............ By the way putz, whats your connection with being a DOOKIE, Im gonna say Laettners shoe stomping exhibition against the player from Kentucky....prove me wrong............ Putz? No need for name calling Flyguy. I wasn't going to resort to making fun of your leather fidora, but you may leave me no choice.
I have ZERO ties to Duke other than growing up in the 80's and deciding to pull for Danny Ferry and Coach K over King Rice and Dean Smith. But you guessed correctly, that "thug" Laettner was one of my favorites. Unklike you, however, I chose not to take every opportunity I have to put down UNC. I guess it is a matter of "class," but I have no problem speaking well of Roy or his team. Your hatred/obsession with Duke is pretty scary, however. Almost as scary as those pictures of you at the poster's meeting. Bout time for a visit to the tanning bed ain't it? |

Insti your final point was the one i was trying to make in my previous post...The person has to strive for better than their current situation and settle for nothing less...I can't argue your other points without getting into a total political argument but will add that it students spend more time out of school than in school so there has to be someone outside the walls of the school to point those students in the right direction....I know there are some superb educators even in those lower class regions but even they only have a limited amount of time to spend with a student...At the end of the day the student has to take ownership of his or her situation and not constantly blame someone else for their plight in life....So what if they can't go to a Duke or a NC or a USC or CLemson....A lot of fine folks who have made major contributions to this country never went to those schools or any college at all......
Back to Duke and i don't think mentality is special to Duke..All athletes at that level have that chip on their shoulder and that swagger. That, along with their physical talent, seperates them from the average athlete...The thing at Duke is more like entitlement. they feel just because they go to Duke they are entitled to certain priveledges other students at other schools shouldn't be privy too......It's really like the difference in Public High School and Private Schools.....You'll see the public institutions spend more of their time helping others and getting involved in the community while the private institution (Duke) tends to only get involved with situations that will benefit them (Duke) just as much if not more than than the event they are a part of..... |

I finally agree with you on something there toolshed......there is no way in HADES you would ever catch me eating dinner with in 10 miles of that freak show! I can hear the banjos playing in the background as I scroll through the pictures. I am afraid those young ladies might have caught something from you lowlifes....errr...I mean fellow posters. Nice empty threat though. God knows a 50 year old in a leather beanie is intimidating and all, but I am pretty sure I could handle myself. And yes Instigator is a friend of mine. One of many that would still exist without the internet. Sad living in cyber world ain't it Fly? Sounds like your jealous cause you got no bo friends yourself. Poor thing. Put on some Hendrix and let him soothe the pain. LOSER! |

You like to look at the pictures and make fun of other people, but you wont show your face.......dont blame you, if I had a mug like yours I wouldnt either.... Ya Dookies are the only losers..........and might make it 4 in a row twice in one year..........Henderson is out of jail, so you might have a chance............until UCLA comes calling............
