I saw a mock bracket (the bracketologist guy) about an hour before the selection show that had Duke playing Winthrop, I was worried. That is no knock on VCU but I didn't want to see The Eagles in the 1st round. Billy Packer picked Winthrop to be the George Mason of this years tournament.

I think they could be. The coach over there has got a great program going. I think they could surprise a few people.

I know it is a long trip but if anyone is planning on going to Spokane it will be well worth it. Spokane is a beautiful city. I lived there for five years, so if anyone that is going has any questions PM me and I can tell you about it. Go EAGLES represent The Palmetto State.

It's just you......I watched the pre-selection show, the selection show, and the post-selection analysis, and everything said about Winthrop was positive. A few of the guys picked Notre Dame to win, but Notre Dame is a good team. A couple guys said it was a bad matchup for Winthrop and pointed out that no team from the Big South had ever won a game in the tourney, but most of the analysts (Packer, Vitale, Hubert, etc.) were saying that Winthrop is legit.

They're absolutely legit! If I'm not mistaken, they've won their conference 7 times in the last 9 years. If that ain't legit, I don't know what is.

One of the year's they didnt win the big south tournament they won the regular season championship. 8 of 9 years dominating the league isnt bad haha. I wonder if Winthrop is looking to move to a better conference? Surely if Marshall stays this will be on his agenda.
